Morning mist rising over Cape Winelands valleys

Born from wandering

How we started

In 2018, two former sommeliers realized they'd spent years recommending wines without truly understanding where they came from. Not the labels or the marketing, but the actual dirt, the slope angle, the morning temperatures.

So they left their restaurant positions and spent eighteen months visiting every accessible estate in the Western Cape. They talked to third-generation viticulturists, sat with cellar masters during harvest, learned which parcels produced the most interesting fruit.

Wine estate architecture blending tradition and modernity

What we believe

Wine tourism has become too standardized. The same tasting room experience, the same four cultivars, the same talking points delivered to groups of twenty.

We built something different: smaller groups, deeper access, guides who actually understand viticulture instead of just reciting tasting notes.

Every journey we design prioritizes conversation over consumption, understanding over volume tasting.

Our guides

We don't hire tour operators. We work with people who've spent years in wine—sommeliers, viticulturists, hospitality professionals who shifted careers because they wanted to share knowledge rather than just pour.

Estate relationships

Every property we visit knows our guides by name. These aren't cold calls—they're collaborations built over years.

Continuous education

Our team maintains active certifications through the Cape Wine Academy and regularly attends technical viticulture workshops.

Customization capability

Because we understand the technical aspects, we can modify any journey based on your specific interests—whether that's organic farming methods or barrel aging techniques.

Supporting the region

Ten percent of every journey fee goes directly to the Cape Winelands Conservation Trust, funding soil health research and sustainable farming education for emerging vintners.
